  Police nab POS fraudsters after PUNCH investigation The Nigeria Police’s National Cybercrime Centre has arrested a group of fraudsters who stole over N16 million using Point of Sales machines. The police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced this in a statement issued on Tuesday evening. He said the police unit, which was set up to tackle cybercrime offences, had recorded salient achievements in less than one month. According to the police publicist, one of those achievements is the arrest of a POS fraud network.   A former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress in the state to strengthen the party ahead of the 2026 governorship poll. The APC, riddled with crisis, was ousted from power in the state during the governorship election held in July 2022 and won by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke. This was as the party leaders and stakeholders unanimously adopted the former governor of the state and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, as the leader of the party in the state.   International award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dragged Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade, to court, seeking custody of the daughter. In an originating motion filed by his lawyers, Dr Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah and others, at the Lagos State High Court, dated April 17, 2024, Davido is praying the court for “an order granting joint custody of Miss Imade Adeleke to the applicant.” In the alternative, the singer prayed to the court for “an order granting to the applicant unfettered and unrestricted access to Miss Imade.” The suit, marked LD/1587PMC/2024, has as applicant Mr David Adedeji Adeleke, while Ms Sophia Momodu was listed as the sole respondent.   Gunmen on Thursday killed a Point of Sales operator in the teaching hospital area in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. The assailants also shot dead a wheelbarrow pusher hawking rice at the Oja Bisi area of the state capital on the same day. Sources said that the gunmen, who came on a motorbike, shot the PoS operator and made away with his money and other valuables. The source, who was familiar with the matter, said, “The PoS operator had just arrived for the day’s business when the gunmen attacked him and left him in a pool of his blood.”
